10/01/2008 - New Free Phone Number

News Story Photo

From January 2008, we've introduced a new toll free phone number: 0800 404 7007. Customers within the UK can now call us from a landline at absolutely no cost to them. Our previous national rate 0870 number is now being phased out.

Chief Executive, David Fenn, said:

"We wanted to reinforce our commitment to our clients in 2008 and among a number of enhancements we'll be introducing, our new toll free number is a highly visible commitment".

Please Note: Some mobile phone networks still charge for toll free numbers. Different countries also charge differing amounts to call 0800 numbers internationally.

Notes to Editors

The British Accreditation Bureau is the leading certification body for accrediting people, services and organisations. Our reputation was established in 1965 as a division of Salford University Business Services. In 1997, the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry approved the use of the word ‘British’ in our new corporate title (The British Accreditation Bureau), in recognition of our pre-eminent status.

Today, our core business is the accreditation of people, services and organisations. We certify organisations to the latest ISO standards and design and manage bespoke accreditation schemes. Such schemes are based on the establishment of standards, which can be developed to be recognised company-wide, industry-wide, nationally or internationally.
