News Story Photo

British Accreditation Bureau Chief Executive David Fenn attended Think 08 at the ExCel London as a speaking guest of Gardiner & Theobald.

Think 08 is an exhibition and conference about sustainability in the built environment. It tackles the issue at a strategic level across the value chain in the public, private and third sectors.

David talked about the environmental standard ISO 14001 - why you need it and how to get it. This incorporated a case study of Gardiner & Theobald who have gone through the process of the ISO 14001 certification with the British Accreditation Bureau. David commented:

"Innovative conferences such as Think 08 provide a great platform to get ISO 14001 discussed by all sectors, suppliers and consumers. The standard is an ideal step for all organisations in order to prove their green credentials."

Gardiner & Theobald are a Worldwide construction consultancy that is driven to become more sustainable and environmentally friendly. David elaborated on how businesses can make a true difference by utilising the ISO 14001 standard.

Think 09 will take place from 5-6 May 2009, again at the ExCeL conference centre in London.

Notes to Editors

The British Accreditation Bureau is the leading certification body for accrediting people, services and organisations. Our reputation was established in 1965 as a division of Salford University Business Services. In 1997, the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry approved the use of the word ‘British’ in our new corporate title (The British Accreditation Bureau), in recognition of our pre-eminent status.

Today, our core business is the accreditation of people, services and organisations. We certify organisations to the latest ISO standards and design and manage bespoke accreditation schemes. Such schemes are based on the establishment of standards, which can be developed to be recognised company-wide, industry-wide, nationally or internationally.
