News08/08/2008 - Academia collaborates with the British Accreditation Bureau
The University of London has obtained permission from the British Accreditation Bureau to use its intellectual property as part of a Masters degree programme entitled Managing Social and Environmental Responsibility. The programme aims to understand the importance and relevance of social and environmental monitoring and accountability and to provide an overview of the ways in which monitoring and accountability can be achieved. The British Accreditation Bureau will be contributing background information about the ISO 14001 standard and how organisations benefit from such environmental standards. A chronology to the ISO 14001 standard can be found on the ISO 14001 certification page. <ENDS> For further information, please contact: Notes to EditorsThe British Accreditation Bureau is the leading certification body for accrediting people, services and organisations. Our reputation was established in 1965 as a division of Salford University Business Services. In 1997, the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry approved the use of the word ‘British’ in our new corporate title (The British Accreditation Bureau), in recognition of our pre-eminent status. Today, our core business is the accreditation of people, services and
organisations. We certify organisations to the latest ISO standards and
design and manage bespoke accreditation schemes. Such schemes are based on
the establishment of standards, which can be developed to be recognised
company-wide, industry-wide, nationally or internationally. |
